Potable WaterPotable Water
By soliciting 1,500 feet of 4 inch steel pipe, and organizing community members, Un Mundo helped facilitate a much needed potable water system for approximately 1,000 inhabitants of the Las Mangas community.

Adan Gondola
Thanks to Un Mundo volunteer technical director Adan Hernandez, there is now a gondola over the Rio Blanco that serves six remote communities. Previously children had to cross a log or wade across the river everyday to get to school, and were frequently completely barred from crossing the river.

Medical BrigadeMedical Brigade
Un Mundo volunteer doctors Juan Escobar and David Black recently gave a public talk in the El Pital health center about how to prevent dysentery. Afterward they were able to attend more than 120 patients. Many people reported they had never before been attended to by a doctor.

Reforestation
Un Mundo helped reforest El Pital and the surrounding area. Some 6,000 native specie saplings were donated to locals for personal use and for planting along riparian lands. The purpose of the reforestation project was to return flora and fauna to its natural state, halt erosion, return flow to streams, and introduce the local population to the principles of forest conservation and management.
