Cangrejal Special Education Project

WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!

In February of 2009, Un Mundo launched our Cangrejal Special Education Pilot Project, which sent eight young children with various physical or mental handicaps to Emilia D'Cuire School for Special Education to the closest city of La Ceiba, approximately one hour away.

The project was such a huge success, we chose to continue the scholarship for three additional years, and expand our reach to four more communities in the Cangrejal valley.  In 2010, seven new children will join the eight existing  students at the school in La Ceiba.  In addition, the local parent committe with be formalized  and expanded working hard to develop a local project in the Cangrejal Valley. This project will eventually serve children and adults with disabilities closer to home, for many years to come.

In August of 2009 Un Mundo received funding to support the administration of the project throughout the 2010 academic year and just recently receive word from the SG Foundation of a $10,000 contribution to help us purchase a mini-school bus to transport the children to school.  However, in order to receive the $10,000, we first need to raise matching funds before December 31st, 2009.

PLEASE HELP US MATCH THE SG FOUNDATION'S $10,000 BY GIVING THE GIFT OF EDUCATION TO THE CHILDREN OF THE CANGREJAL VALLEY!!!!

As always your donations are fully tax-deductible and if you hurry will maximize your 2009 deductions. Click below to make a secure donation via Paypal.
